Nowadays I’ve been crazy for this drama called Flower Boys Ramyun Shop (FBRS). From the titled, if you already followed Korean or Japanese drama, you must now that flower boys is the best them for a romance comedy drama. Flower boy actually means pretty boy whose posses a lot of charisma usually described with scent of flower around him. This “kind “of a boy mentioned very well in much shoujo, josei, romance manga. But the “real” version is always presented well in Japanese/Korean movie drama which I love most.
I attached into flower boy worlds in 1999 when I first saw News no Onna on TV. Hideaki Takizawa (known as Tackey) made my teenage adrenaline pumped very well at that time. LOL. Wearing a Japanese school uniform in such a cool and neat pose, he was incredibly awesome with his bleached blond long hair. I think this man is actually the personification whom I dreamt in most main character of shoujo.

This guy also joined a Japanese greatest music entertainment industry called Johhnys Jimushou which orbits a lot of boybands. Since I knew Tackey, I was awaked that out there, in his agency, there were also other hot flower boys joined lot of Japanese boybands. NEWS, ARASHI, KAT TUN or even the “older” version such as SMAP, Kinki Kids, V6 made me realized that the imaginary flower boys could become a really pleasure reality. Most of these guys in that entertainment not only “good” at singing, but also good expertise acting as flower boy in drama/movie.

One of the hits of flower boys drama would be Hana Yori Dango. The drama must be “daebak” for a flower boy fan like me because the main characters were of course pretty boys and the story was adapted from famous manga titled the same.
Hana Yori Dango casts
It told us about “Cinderella story” ; An ordinary poor girl met an incredibly arrogant rich boy, accidentally have a conflict, fall in love each other, had a family conflict, appearance of other extremely nice pretty boy, love triangle conflict, two boys fight and save the girl from the bastard family, and the girl chose the main character of course with the arrogant and bad boy character. Yeah of course, BAD BOY is much much sexy than the extremely nice boy. HANA YORI DANGO gave fantastic ratings and fame not only in Japan but also a lot of countries. This drama even adapted into several versions such as South Korean and Chinese versions. Anyways, before the Japanese version, Hana Yori Dango manga was adapted into Taiwanese drama called Meteor Garden. But I think this version is not the “real” adapted version, since it destroyed the actual plot of the manga in the middle of the drama. Meteor Garden gave a lot of modification in the story and seemed far from the original.

Nowadays, I never watch Japanese drama. Why? The Japanese pretty boys that I used to like seemed disappear. They become mature and old. In fact, Korean entertainment industry become huge hit recently not only in drama/movie industry but also music industry. Korean musics and dramas are much easily accessed than Japanese ones. Even Japanese songs that I listened nowadays were sung by Korean artist. Japanese drama used to be my favorite since it consist a lot of manga comedy and characters on it. I think that genre is less now. A lot of Japanese dramas nowadays become boring and too serious. It is not that I don’t like serious drama but I want to watch drama to get entertained not to get so much thinking. I get a lot of brain cramps in office and at least I want to get brainless in watching drama.
Flower Boy Ramyun Shop
So what actually happens in Flower Boys Ramyun Shop???? DAEBAK. This Korean drama is what I am looking so far. This romantic comedy deals with "pretty boys," who with good looks and individuality, operate a ramen shop with lively college girls and experience the happenings of daily life.

The main character of girl is silly young woman, Yang Eun Bi, known as volleyball player, hot tempered girl, and a legend in her high school. She was struggling to become a teacher, began as intern in her old school. Unfortunately, she met an arrogant rich low attitude boy, Cha Chi Soo, whose dad owns the school. The conflict began as Eun Bi mistakenly recognized the boy as a mature guy that she typed as an ideal man that she could date with. Since Eun Bi had so much desperate background with her first love, she was encouraged to ask Chi Soo to date her. And that was the time when Eun BI knew that Chi Soo is her student. Prince Chi Soo was womanizer with his everywhere “blink” activity and his “pretty’ says to every woman in town.

Chi Soo attacked Eun Bi with his womanizer attitude and Eun Bi at first trapped by this. But suddenly , Eun Bi realized that Chi Soo is such a jerk student who played her. Eun Bi then transformed into her “real” character and she counter attacked Chi Soo with her powerful volley ball spike. ROFL. Eun Bi decided to quit as intern teacher in the school. Chi Soo was pissed off and became obsessive with Eun Bi.

The next conflict happened when Eun Bi’s father passed away, leaving her only daughter a ramyun shop and a super duper hot muscular man called Choi Kang Hyuk. Eun Bi’s dad actually left the ramyun shop to Kang Hyuk as well as Eun Bi to become his wife. Kang Hyuk’s character is opposite with Chi Soo, with a sweet , little pervert, but an excellent in cook. Knag Hyuks wanted to keep the ramyun shop while Eun Ib wanted to sell it anyway in regards to her hatred to the ramyun shop. But since she already quitted teaching and remembered her father’s message, she then decided to keep the ramyun shop.
What happened to Chi Soo then? How is Kang Hyuk and Eun Bi manage the ramyun shop? That would be in later episode of this drama. This drama was only aired for 5 episodes, still 11 episodes to go. It airs every Monday and Tuesday from October 31, to December 20 on TvN.
What the exciting things about this drama (at least for me):
1. Romcom drama, with ordinary silly high tempered girl vs a lot of flower boys surround her life.
2. Pedonoona (pedophile noona) romance story. Eun Bi, older woman, had a romance conflict with younger man (or a boy?), Cha Chi Soo. This is so my favorite. Noona vs pretty dongsaeng.

3. Jung Il woo, I loved him since playing as Lee Tae Yoon, second lead male in My Fair Lady. Pretty boy, tall, killer smile, best look in suit.
